Product Introduction

Silica Brick is an acidic refractory brick manufactured from selected silica raw materials, mineralizers and bonding materials.

During production, the raw materials are crushed, mixed, shaped, dried and fired at approximately 1400–1430°C. The main mineral phases consist of tridymite, cristobalite, a small amount of residual quartz and glass phase.

Silica Brick generally contains at least 94% SiO₂. It provides high refractoriness under load, good high-temperature mechanical strength and reliable volume stability during continuous high-temperature operation.

The brick is especially suitable for coke ovens, glass melting furnaces, hot blast stoves and other industrial furnaces operating under acidic conditions. Standard grades include GZ-94, GZ-95 and GZ-96.

Silica Brick performs most reliably when maintained at high operating temperatures. Above approximately 600°C, the mineral structure is relatively stable and its resistance to temperature fluctuations improves.

Application:

Silica Brick is mainly used as a structural working lining in high-temperature industrial furnaces operating under acidic conditions.

Silica Brick should not normally be selected for areas exposed to strong basic slag or rapid repeated cooling below its stable high-temperature operating range. The appropriate grade should be selected according to furnace atmosphere, operating temperature, mechanical load and heating cycle.

The reference manufacturer identifies coke ovens, glass melting furnaces, hot blast stoves, soaking furnaces and ceramic kilns as the principal applications.
