Product Introduction

Refractory Cement CA80 is a high-purity calcium aluminate cement containing approximately 80% alumina. It is mainly used as a hydraulic binder in high-performance refractory castables, refractory mortars, gunning materials and refractory precast products.

The cement is manufactured from high-purity alumina and calcium-containing raw materials through a high-temperature sintering process. Its principal mineral phases include calcium monoaluminate, calcium dialuminate and alpha alumina.

After mixing with water, Refractory Cement CA80 develops hydraulic bonding strength. It provides high refractoriness, good early mechanical strength and reliable strength at intermediate and high temperatures.

The low silica and iron oxide content makes CA80 suitable for refractory applications requiring high purity. It can also be used in reducing atmospheres containing hydrogen or carbon monoxide, where low impurity content is important.

CA80 and CA80S are available for different construction requirements. CA80 is designed for relatively fast setting, while CA80S provides better fluidity, lower water demand and a longer available working time.

Applications

Refractory Cement CA80 is mainly used as a binder in high-purity and high-performance unshaped refractory materials.

Typical applications include:

  • Conventional refractory castables
  • Low-cement refractory castables
  • Ultra-low-cement refractory castables
  • High alumina refractory castables
  • Corundum refractory castables
  • Mullite refractory castables
  • High-purity refractory concrete
  • Refractory mortar
  • Refractory gunning materials
  • Self-flow refractory castables
  • Refractory precast blocks
  • Burner blocks
  • Furnace door components
  • Furnace repair materials
  • Metallurgical furnace linings
  • Petrochemical furnace linings
  • Reducing-atmosphere furnace linings
  • Building chemistry materials

The final performance of the refractory material depends on the selected cement grade, cement dosage, aggregate composition, additives, mixing water, curing conditions and heating process.

We specifically recommends CA80 for conventional and low-cement castables requiring fast setting, early strength development and good strength at intermediate temperatures.
